Willie Gay of the Chiefs is suspended for four games

Willie Gay, a linebacker with the Chiefs, was given a four-game NFL suspension on Monday for violating its personal behaviour policy.

Gay was detained in January and charged with misdemeanour criminal property damage of less than $1,000 in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City.

Gay will miss Sunday's game in Indianapolis as well as contests against Tampa Bay, Las Vegas, and Buffalo because there was no appeal made over the penalty.

He cannot communicate with the squad during the first two weeks according to NFL regulations.

Gay is tied for second on the squad in tackles, tackles for loss, and passes defended after starting their first two games against the Cardinals and Chargers.

"I do believe that my role has grown," Gay acknowledged during training camp
