Warm-up game for the FIFA World Cup 2022

Argentina wins 5-0 thanks to Messi and Di Maria, while Poland defeats Chile 1-0.

Argentina warmed up for the World Cup with a 5-0 thrashing of the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.

Argentina took the lead in front of a raucous Mohammad Bin Zayed Stadium crowd when Messi collected a pass from Di Maria and found himself with only the goalkeeper to beat.

Eight minutes later, Di Maria doubled Argentina's lead with a stunning volley.

Argentina, which returns to Qatar on Thursday, will play Saudi Arabia in its first match on November 22 before facing Mexico and Poland in Group C.

Poland beat Chile 1-0 in Warsaw on Wednesday, thanks to a late goal by substitute Krzysztof Piatek, as regular starters rested for the final game before the squad heads to Qatar for the World Cup.

Czeslaw Michniewicz, Poland's coach, chose to rest some of his key players, including goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, playmaker Piotr Zielinski, and striker Robert Lewandowski.
