dark Ford Escort driven by Princess Diana sold for $764,000 at auction
A vehicle that used to be driven by Diana, Princess of Wales, has sold for £650,000 ($763,716).
The dark Ford Escort RS Turbo was sold at Silverstone Auctions on August 27.
Diana wouldn't permit anybody to drive her Ford Escort and on second thought picked to have her gatekeepers sit by her in the front seat.
Arwel Richards, the exemplary vehicle expert at Silverstone Auctions, said that "The vehicle surpassed all assumptions,"
drawn with the RS Turbo's standing as the People's Sports Car and the honorific of People's Princess given by the British public to Princess Diana."
Princess Diana kicked the bucket on August 31, 1997, in a fender bender in Paris. Her sweetheart, Dodi Fayed, and her driver, Henri Paul, were likewise killed in the mishap.
