Anthony Edwards, a star with the Timberwolves, was fined $40,000 for homophobic statements.

Anthony Edwards, a guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has received a $40,000 NBA fine.

After being discovered making homophobic and disrespectful comments at the LGBT+ community, Edwards apologised for his behaviour on Twitter.

NBA icon Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recently urged the 21-year-old prodigy to engage in voluntary work with the LGBT+ community.

Tim Connelly, the president of the Timberwolves, issued a statement in which he said, "We are disappointed with the language and conduct Anthony Edwards demonstrated on social media."

In the regular season of 2021–2022, "Ant-Man" averaged 21.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game.
