An umpire coincidentally helped the Royals in getting a Tigers batter out on Sunday

Royals starter Brady Singer didn't require a lot of help Sunday in dealing with the Tigers' setup in Kansas City's 4-0 win

The Tigers had a runner on first with one out in the 6th inning when right defender Victor Reyes hit a grounder down the respectable starting point line

The ball seemed to divert off Royal's first baseman Nick Pratto's glove and hit umpire Lew Williams

As opposed to having the ball skirt away from Pratto, he was able to grab it after it was stopped by Williams

The piece of favorable luck held the Tigers back from having  runners on first and third with one out

There was a  runner on second with one out, and Javier Báez followed and made the last out of the inning
